Security framework readiness is the practical ability to show how a company meets a security framework, audit expectation, or customer requirement.

It usually includes:

  • Policies and procedures
  • Technical controls
  • Evidence
  • Owners
  • Known gaps
  • Remediation plans

For lean security teams, readiness is often more useful than claiming full certification too early. It creates visibility into what exists, what is missing, and what should move next.
